Edmonton Sex Therapist and Registered Psychologist
Do you have difficulties in your sex life?
Do you have a hard time getting to orgasm? Or with getting and keeping an erection?
Everyone has sexual health problems at some point in their lives. You’re not alone.
“I can’t believe how long we waited to get help!” is the most frequent comment we hear from our clients.
Part of traditional psychotherapy, sex therapy helps you talk about sex in a safe, open space about your sexual health individually or with your partner. Couples often have sex problems related to who initiates sex, what arouses their partner, and when and how they prefer to have sex. Couples with young children are often exhausted and have trouble keeping sex a priority, which leads to fights and doubts about their relationship. Older couples may struggle with menopause, erectile dysfunction, and other health issues that can impair sex. Often, couples have difficulty in solving their sex problems on their own because of emotions getting in the way of an open, healthy dialogue.
How It Works
How We Can Help
We appreciate how nervous and anxious you may feel talking about sex with your partner, or with a stranger. Sex therapy helps you talk about sex in a safe, open space individually, or with your partner. Nothing is off-limits. We’re open minded and we won’t judge you or your partner. We’re here to listen. We’re here to help.
Once we create an open space to share, we talk about what’s hurting you, your partner, and your relationship. We set goals for us to accomplish together, using scientific concepts and models. We explore how to access your authentic sexuality and express yourself freely. For sex therapy to be effective, we focus on authenticity, vulnerability, honesty and sensitivity.
